84 Years in One Campaign

Seattle's oldest tattoo shop has been open since 1941. The campaign had to carry that history without turning the place into a museum piece. It's a working shop with a working crew.

We built the campaign around the people rather than the archive. A historic timeline film traces the shop from 1941 to the bench someone is working at today, and artist spotlights let each of them talk about their own work, one of them in Spanish.

Drone, digital and film photography covered the crew, the flash walls and the corner of Capitol Hill the shop has sat on for eight decades.
